Policies and Process

Students are admitted to J.E Cosgriff School according to the following priority:

  1. Current Students
  2. Siblings of Current Students
  3. Children of St. Ambrose parishioners
  4. Children who are members of a Catholic parish
  5. Children from non-Catholic families

To apply to J.E. Cosgriff School, Parents must submit the following information:

  1. $50 non-refundable application fee
    (make checks out to J.E. Cosgriff)
  2. A copy of child’s birth certificate
  3. A copy of child’s baptismal certificate, if child has been baptized
  4. Current copy of immunizations

A student will not be considered for acceptance until all the above information has been received.

Upon acceptance, all new students will be required to pay a $500 non-refundable deposit, which will be credited towards tuition at registration.

Tuition rates are set by the Salt Lake Catholic Diocese for grades K-8. 

Tuition for 2017-2018 school year:

Preschool 2 year olds: $2,200
Preschool 3 year olds: $3,500
Pre-Kindergarten: $4,440


K – 8 Qualified Catholic rate:  $5,540

K – 8 Regular Tuition rate:  $6,924

The cost difference between the regular tuition and the Catholic tuition K-8 is $1,384. Please consider voluntarily paying the regular tuition even if eligible for Catholic tuition. The tax-deductible donated amount would make a significant impact toward meeting our budgetary needs and funding our programs.

*To receive the qualified catholic rate, parents must:

  • Be registered in a parish
  • Baptize their child/children


Financial Aid


It is our goal to make Catholic education a possibility for all families who want to attend. Need based tuition assistance is available for qualifying families. Need is determined by the FACTS assistance program, tuition assistance is then calculated on a family by family basis.

Because financial aid is limited it is important to submit your application and other required forms before the deadline.


Fee Structure for 2017-2018:

Reapplication $30


Toddler / Preschool / Pre-Kindergarten:  $200 per student

Kindergarten – 8th Grade:  $400 per student

*8th Grade Students will also be required to pay an additional $100 graduation fee

The Student Fee is assessed per student and will be used to fund the following school expenditures:

  • H.S.A. membership fee
  • Student Insurance
  • Standardized testing and statewide standard assessments
  • Health & Safety, continued updating of safety equipment
  • Parent education – Singapore math night, Kindergarten night, Math/Science night, Preschool Day
  • Student educational presentations (theater, dance, opera)
  • Funding for class field trips and transportation
  • Technology (smart boards, projectors, computers)

By law, every student in Grade K-8 must be immunized before entering school. Prior to entering J.E. Cosgriff Memorial Catholic School, every student must have the following immunizations:

  • 5 DPT/DTaP/DT (4 doses of DTaP, if 4th dose given on/after the 4th birthday; 3 doses of DT, if starting series after age 7 years with a single dose of Tdap preferred as the first dose)
  • 4 Polio – 3 doses if 3rd dose was given on/after 4th birthday
  • 2 Measles, Mumps, Rubella
  • 3 Hepatitis B
  • 1 Varicella (chickenpox) – history of chickenpox is OK: parent/guardian must sign verification statement on school immunization record
  • 2 Hepatitis A · (For those entering 7th grade) Tdap booster (Regardless of interval since the last tetanus/diphtheria containing vaccine)

The Catholic Schools Office recognizes only legitimate medical exemptions to these immunization requirements. Religious or personal objections to the immunization requirements are not recognized by J.E. Cosgriff Memorial Catholic School.
