Summer reading

View our various reading lists

Between books to enjoy over the summer to some of the classics, we’ve put together a few different lists for students to stay engaged during the off months and after school. Some of these may be required as assignments with the goal to provide a basis of knowledge for discussion as we compare author’s styles, techniques, and connect to the plot of books read in class.

Classical Reading Lists

Even though summer vacation means it is time to relax, we’d love to hear that students continued to read every day. Whether it’s a novel, magazine, interesting news topics, short stories, non-fiction or poetry we believe reading helps to become the best writer a student can be. Here’s a couple lists put together divided up by reading ability levels.

If you’re looking for additional reading, check out New York City Library’s 100 Great Children’s Books below. If you need more information or have any questions please get in touch with us and we’ll be happy to assist or point you in the right direction.
